Our trainer, Roxanne, is a certified dog handler, with over 15 years of experience in behavior modification, specialized training, and obedience/manners training. She is also a certified evaluator for AKC Canine Good Citizen, STAR Puppy, and Urban CGC.
Roxanne has also trained, certified, and competed with her own dogs. She has instructed classes for sport-related classes for dogs, hosted obedience classes, and other fun courses for owners and their dogs.
In addition to this, she has years of fostering shelter and rescue dogs (and other animals abandoned or surrendered- including pigs, rabbits, goats, and more) and working with dogs that have behavioral issues or need help adjusting to a new home life. She also ensures to stay up-to-date with continuing education where she can to learn the best methodologies to help dogs in need.
When we take dogs into our training program we focus on building strong, positive relationships between dogs and their owners, using personalized techniques for lasting results.
Our board-and-train program means your dog stays with us in our home while receiving daily, structured training. It’s a great way for your dog to learn in a consistent, focused environment with plenty of practice and positive reinforcement.
Program length depends on your goals and your dog’s needs. Most stays range from 2 to 4 weeks. We’ll discuss the best option for your dog during the initial consultation, and your expectations.
Absolutely! We’ll send regular updates and photos so you can see how your dog is doing and follow their progress while they’re away. This also helps prepare you and your household on your dog's return and how you can maintain their training.
Each training plan is personalized, but most dogs learn core obedience skills like sit, stay, recall, leash manners, place, and polite behavior around people and other dogs. We’ll also work on any specific goals or challenges you’d like addressed.
Yes! Before your dog goes home, we’ll walk you through everything they’ve learned and show you how to maintain the training at home. Our goal is to help both you and your dog feel confident and successful as a team.
